Bannon Asks ZOA to Join His War on GOP Establishment
Breitbart News Executive Chairman Steve Bannon asked the Zionist Organization of America to join his crusade against the Republican Party and the Washington, D.C., establishment.

During a recent speech to the Zionist Organization of America, Breitbart News Executive Chairman Steve Bannon, formerly President Donald Trump’s chief strategist, called on the pro-Israel group to join his crusade against the Republican Party establishment.

I am not a moderate, I’m a fighter," he said. " And that’s why I’m proud to stand with the state of Israel. That’s why I’m proud to be a Christian Zionist."

The outspoken conservative, in his first speech to a Jewish group since joining the Trump administration, also heaped praise in Sheldon Adelson, ZOA’s top donor. He said without the Jewish billionaire’s unwavering support in the late stages of the 2016 presidential campaign, it’s unlikely the president would have won.

Regarding the aftermath of the “Access Hollywood” scandal, Bannon added:

"Sheldon Adelson didn’t cut and run. Sheldon Adelson had Donald Trump’s back. Sheldon Adelson offered guidance and counsel and wisdom of how to get through it. He was there for Donald Trump about how to comport oneself and how to dig down deep and it was his guidance and his wisdom that helped get us through it."

After recounting the administration’s actions that have benefited Israel, Bannon railed against the liberal mainstream media and the Washington, D.C., globalist establishment that are working to hold the president back. His call to join the “insurgency movement against the Republican establishment, against the permanent global class,” however, was not an applause line.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman also spoke at the event, which is ZOA’s top annual fundraiser. Prior to the meeting, the organization’s president, Morton Klein, criticized the Trump administration’s reported Middle East peace plan efforts.
