Dan Brown: Replace God With ‘Collective Consciousness’
Dan Brown, the blasphemous author of The Da Vinci Code, has said the world should turn to technology to replace God with a "collective consciousness."

Blasphemous author Dan Brown, best known for The Da Vinci Code, wants to use artificial intelligence to create a “collective consciousness” to replace God—who he says humanity no longer needs.

Reuters reports the 53-year-old author made the startling claim while promoting his new book, Origins, which also features the Da Vinci Code protagonist Robert Langdon—played by Tom Hanks in the movie adaptations. The new installment delves into issues related to futurism and billionaire investments into technological advances.

The author also reportedly said:

"Are we naive today to believe that the gods of the present will survive and be here in a hundred years?

Christianity, Judaism and Islam all share a gospel, loosely, and it's important that we all realize that. Our religions are much more similar than they are different.

We will start to find our spiritual experiences through our interconnections with each other [that will lead to] some form of global consciousness that we perceive and that becomes our divine. Our need for that exterior god, that sits up there and judges us ... will diminish and eventually disappear."

By turning to futurism, Brown added, technological change and the development of artificial intelligence would lead to this transformation of the “concept of the divine.”
