Are globalists in the White House pushing for President Trump to break his promise on climate change?
(VERO BEACH, FL) On Wednesday Heartland Institute’s H. Sterling Burnett said the globalist faction in the West Wing is pushing for President Trump to sign the Paris Climate accord, which calls for carbon emission taxing and the enforcement of U.N. Agenda 2030.
Burnett, who serves as a Environment and Energy Policy research fellow for the Washington based conservative think-tank, told Breitbart News Daily host Alex Marlow that he believes a faction led by Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is actively battling nationalists led by Steve Bannon to convince the President to turn his back on this iconic campaign promise.
“Trump rightly said he was going to withdraw from this, but there are two factions in the White House. There are those like Scott Pruitt, head of the EPA, like Steve Bannon, his adviser, that say keep your campaign promise. Withdraw from the Paris Climate agreement. Let America grow,” Burnett said.
“But then there’s the other faction,” Burnett continued, “that’s led by Rex Tillerson, who has a lot of influence as secretary of state, who said we should stay in the agreement. It’s led by his daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. She wants to make climate change her signature issue. So he’s got powerful interests trying to keep him in the agreement, saying not [to] leave it as it is, but renegotiate it. Cut a better deal.”
Burnett, who’s parent organization has officially called for America to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, said:
“Problem is, there are no terms within the treaty to cut a better deal. You’re not allowed within the treaty to cut a better deal. And the worst problem is, is there’s no better deal to be had, in the sense that if you’re forcing America to cut its emissions, you’re having big government intervene in the economy.”
Burnett added that he had heard Trump’s Secretary of Energy Rick Perry may also be “waffling” on the Paris Accord, but noted President Trump’s base supporters will be severely shocked if he doesn’t keep his promise to abolish the unsigned U.N. Climate Change Treaty.
“He can either, do what he said he would do, one of the things he promised to do on the campaign trail was to keep his promises!” Burnett said. “He can either keep his promises to the base that voted for him, not because they agree with him on everything, but because they thought he was a man of his word. And some people voted for him based on this promise, that he’d get us out of Paris, he’d stop getting us entangled in these foreign agreements that hurt the U.S. from bringing jobs back home. If he does withdraw, he makes no enemies.”
TRUNEWS has previously reported that the Kushner-Ivanka-Cohn faction of the White House appears to be pushing President Trump toward policies which are economically and geopolitically advantageous for Goldman Sachs and Israel. One such connection is Genie Energy, which owns the sole rights to drill for oil in Syria’s Golan Heights, a region which was unofficially annexed by Israel in 1981.
