YouTuber May Have Stumbled Upon SR-72 Skunk Works
A YouTuber may have inadvertently stumbled upon a demonstration mockup of a "trijet" planned for the SR-72 spy aircraft project currently under development.

In a video published last week to YouTube, the popular UFO conspiracy theorist group known as Secure Team 10 has perhaps stumbled upon a top-secret military aerospace skunk works located in the middle of Florida swampland.

The video’s narrator, who identifies himself as “Tyler,” shows an image taken from Google Earth of what appears to be an abandoned private runway in rural Palm Beach County, about six miles west of Jupiter. The runway has “X” marks at each end to let civilian pilots know it is closed to all traffic.

Upon closer examination of the site, however, one can see what appears to be a diamond-shaped object. Tyler states it is some kind of aircraft or spacecraft, but admits that its silhouette doesn’t conform with any publicly announced designs, civilian or military.

He suggests that it is perhaps a secret test facility for the SR-72 hypersonic spy aircraft under development by Lockheed Martin. While that may seem preposterous, TruNews has independently verified several aspects of the Secure Team 10 report.

Beginning with the location of the facility, the airstrip and adjacent buildings were quickly found using Google’s mapping application, and upon closer examination, the “UFO” was also identified. Although the facility itself is not marked, it is immediately adjacent to a facility owned by Aerojet Rocketdyne, formerly known as Pratt & Whitney. Pratt & Whitney engines were used in the predecessor of the SR-72, the SR-71, which was retired from service in 1997.

In 2013, it was reported that Aerospace Rocketdyne was developing a new “trijet” propulsion system that would bridge the gap between standard military turbine engines with a maximum airspeed of Mach 2.5, and “scramjets” that can begin operating only at Mach 3.5. The SR-72 project, which reportedly will have a cruising speed of Mach 6, was specifically mentioned as one application for the new propulsion system.

The “UFO” in the Google Earth image also closely resembles concept drawings of the SR-72. The 2013 article said a small “F-22 scale demonstrator” was targeted for production and testing in 2018.

Based on this information, it would seem a YouTuber may have stumbled upon a top-secret military project “hiding in plain sight.”
